Her parents are Mark Mitchell and Precious Garri. She's of Filipina descent, and her father has Scottish/Irish heritage. Her cousin, Mitchell is Lea Salonga who is a popular musical theater actor and actress. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary school before she transferred onto West Vancouver Secondary. Mitchell was already modeling around the world in her early teens. The model traveled to Barcelona and Bangkok before returning to Toronto to study acting.
