Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. However, for an Irish girl surrounded with gifted parents as well as her extended loved ones, this was a characteristic that was innate to her. Maureen entered the sanctity of family on August 17, 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons, born in Dublin, is the woman who raised her. She was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin-based firm and was also an investor in the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons came 2nd in the group of 6 FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was young and became very good at it. This naturally-born interest with her ability to perform was impressive. In the end, she was awarded almost all of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her home country. When she was 14 years old, she joined with the Abbey Theater to follow her dreams in classical theatre and operatic singing.
