Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her, according to American standards, in the class of child prodigies. A child of Irish roots, surrounded as she was by gifted parents and family did this naturally. Maureen moved into this loving home on August 17, 20th in Ranelagh. Marguerita L. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers" a renowned Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen was an athletic natural and was a fan of tough athletic games. The passion for sports was matched by the natural ability to perform. She took home almost every Feis Award for Theater and Drama that her country had to offer. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then continued to pursue her dream of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
