Her achievements when she was a child performer in America (or what we call Maureen O'Hara today) would be a sure signification for her to fall into the "child prodigy" category. A child born that had Irish heritage, who was surrounded she was by talented parents as well as a clan that was filled with talent, these traits came naturally. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by the family of her parents. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin and was also the owner of the renowned Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons' is the 2nd FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed playing sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. She won almost every Feis Award for Theater and Drama the country could provide. When she turned 14, the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live the dream of her in operatic music and classical theater.
