Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the arts of performing (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would put her on the American child prodigy list. For a child of Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and family, they had innate talents. Maureen entered this loving haven within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita Lilburn fitzSimons' mother was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the second FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as an infant and was extremely good at it. This passion was combined with an equally natural talent for performing. Her winning of almost all Feis prizes for her own country's theater and drama proved the fact that she was a natural performer. At the age of 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her dreams of classical and opera.
